The Roots of Robert Johnson; the Delta Blues and Beyond. with Woody Mann
Robert Johnson is one of the most storied figures in blues history. He drew influence from and was inspired by many of the great country blues guitarists that preceded him, including Son House, Charlie Patton, Lonnie Johnson, Blind Blake and Scrapper Blackwell. This workshop focuses on the original repertoire of these great artists and how they shaped Robert Johnson's arrangements and playing style. The tunes cover standard and open tunings, syncopated picking ideas, and techniques of how to improvise and create variations within a song.  Exploring the music of Robert Johnson offers a fascinating look at a cross-section of sounds and styles of country blues guitar.
Woody will teach different material than he taught in previous classes.
