Acoustic Blues Repertoire: Open Tunings
 

This workshop focuses on understanding the basics of altered and open tunings. While learning new repertoire, Woody will explore various picking approaches and new chord positions in Open D, Open D minor, Open G, drop D and drop DG tuning. The workshop is open to all levels of players who would like to expand their repertoire and learn the music of some of country blues greatest players, including Blind Willie Johnson, Skip James, Tampa Red, Memphis Minnie, and Charlie Patton. No previous experience playing in open tunings is necessary.
